How to Run a Successful Meeting in Half the TimeMilo O. Frank Q: When should you call a meeting? A: when a meeting is the best way to achieve your objective. When I was head of talent and casting for the CBS network, we stared a new televising show called Best of Broadway. Those were the early days of television when many of the stars we wanted were reluctant to appear. But I was able to get Claudette Colbert (her TV debut), Helen Hayes, Fredric March, Nancy Olson, and Charles Coburn in the cast for one particular show. At that time it was the best “name” cast ever assembled on TV for a dramatic show, and was I proud – except I was in trouble. March, Hayes, and Colbert all wanted top billing or they would withdraw. The name that comes first on the marquee or screen is partially a matter of life and death to an actor, sometimes even more important than money.
